Comments '1999:
A Far Eastern University standout in the UAAP, he has long been considered to be one of the most promising playmakers in the country. Prior to making the big jump to the pros, Mendoza wowed basketball fans by leading Dr. J over powerhouse Tanduay in the PBL championship series. This wily court general was chosen by Barangay Ginebra in the first round of the 1999 PBA Draft but was quickly dealt to Mobiline in exchange for defensive ace Merwin Castelo. Given the right exposure, his career can continue to blossom in the PBA.
