Outlook:
May be as skilled fundamentally as any big man coming from the college ranks...Plays with excellent savvy, maturity and an understanding of how to play the game properly...Has great footwork and an array of moves in the post...Also possesses a very fine touch (note free throw percentages always in the mid 70's) from 15-18 feet...Feels comfortable either leading the team in scoring or letting his teammates 'do their thing'. ALWAYS REBOUNDS!!! Has the kind of smarts that cannot be taught...Extremely coachable and very good in the classroom, VanHoose was an Academic All-America...Reminds many of a Kevin McHale-type
