Outlook:
Anthony is an extremely athletic guard who is a great scorer. He is very strong and is able to rebound better than most guards you will ever find. He has great basketball instincts which allow him to anticipate plays before they develop. He has a great jumpshot which he elevates very well on and makes with good accuracy. His best asset is his unparalleled athleticism which allows him to outplay most opponents and dunk on any defender with ease. His incredible quickness helps him to penetrate into the lane and finish the play or pass to an open teammate. At Wyoming he averaged good numbers for a team that started 2 future NBA players. He is a great floor leader who excels in the open court but at the same time is very effective as a half court point guard.
Looking for a diamond in the rough? Look no further than 6'2" Anthony Blakes from the University of Wyoming. Anthony possesses all the necessary tools to play at the professional level including quickness, speed, athleticism, and a heart with a will to win.
Defensively Anthony earned the respect of conference players and coaches a year ago when he was selected to the Western Athletic Conference All-Defensive Team. Anthony led the Cowboys in steals by averaging 2.2 per game, tied in rebounds with 7.4, was second in scoring averaging 11.4 points per game, 4.5 assists, and 1 block.
Anthony is quick and strong enough to drive to the basket and is a threat outside to shoot the three. He is often compared to his close friend Mike Bibby of the Vancouver Grizzlies for his size and style of play.
