Outlook:
Coach Charles McCullough on Weathers: “Chanta’ was one of the hardest workers we’ve had here at Livingstone. he is totally committed, he’s got the strength, the skills, and I think he’s willing to work hard to make it to the next level.”
Leonard Haynes (SID) on Weathers: “The 1997 -1998 season saw senior guard Chanta’Weathers step up and emerge as a true leader and one of Livingstone’s all-time scorers; Chanta’ possesses excellent range and has no fear of putting the ball in the air during crucial moments in the game. Chanta’ was also affectionately known on campus as “the Answer,” named after the Philadelphia’s 76’ER’S Allen Iverson. At 6’2” Weathers was able to finish the year off as one of the leading scorers in the CIAA. Not only is Weathers an impressive scorer, ball handler, and passer, he also takes pride in his defense by finishing the season with a team high 45 steals and shutting down some of the best talent in college basketball today. Through this hard work, Weathers lead Livingstone College to it’s first appearance in the semi-finals in CIAA history, as well as helping to collect the Tournament Sportsmanship Award.”
Legendary Harlem Road King Lamont “Showboat” Robinson on Weathers: “I believe that Chanta’ Weathers is one of the purest point guards in the country. I came into the gym and blinked my eyes and for a moment I thought it was Allen Iverson!”
