World Championship U18 '03 comments (by Yarone Arbel):
The giant of Korea was mentioned as "The Next Yao Ming" here and there, but other than height and generally the same geographical origins they don't have much in common. Ha is very big. Not only height wise, but also width, and much slower than Ming. His block shot ability is good, he's a good rebounder, especially on offense, and a reasonable shooting ability will make him the first Korean in the NBA, but he's still not always in synch with the game, sometimes reacts too slow, but the bottom line is clear and simple. With his size he's capable of doing good things.
Outlook (by NBADraft.TK):
Strengths: Absolutely enormous. Shows a good touch around the basket. Ha is developing a good offensive game. He also has a great work ethic; he has been training in America for the last year improving himself for the NBA. He is a traditional low post center, definitely not soft.
Weaknesses: Slower than Yao with even worse stamina and endurance. Still raw, Ha does not have a polished game. His footwork and mobility is decent for his size, but it is definitely not great. His post up skills still need work, but he is clearly going to be a post up player in the NBA. Ha does not have much international experience, and when he has played he has been dominated. In the 2003 Asian Championship, Ha was completely dismantled by Yao Ming. Another concern for Ha is possible injury risk. Players that are as big as Ha usually suffer more injuries. He only averaged ten rebounds against Korean high school competition. Probably should have averaged more considering the competition.
