The most shocking disappointment of round 5 in the Superliga was a home defeat of 4th placed Studenti (2-3) to fifth ranked Vllaznia (3-2) 57-52 in the game for the fourth place. Vllaznia forced 27 Studenti turnovers. Strangely Studenti outrebounded Vllaznia 45-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Bernada Rreshpja (-2001) stepped up and scored 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Ingrit Dashja (178-1993) chipped in 2 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals. International Marina Pellumbi (168-2002) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Vllaznia moved-up to fourth place. Studenti at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Vllaznia are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tirana at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Studenti's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tirana Berleti.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tirana: Partizani (#3) and Berleti (#8). Berleti was crushed at home by 89 points 25-114 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. American center Emma Fee (185-1999, college: Winona St.) nailed 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Ornela Lalaj accounted for 14 points and 15 rebounds. Partizani's coach Erta Bujari felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Emi Skuqi (-2001) came up with 4 points and 6 rebounds for Berleti in the defeat. Partizani have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Tirana. Berleti at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Partizani will play against league's leader Flamurtari in Vlore in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Berleti's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tirana to the arena Studenti.
