Albanian Superliga round 9 best performance: Ornela Lalaj

International Point guard Ornela Lalaj (173-PG-1994) had a great game in the last round for Partizani Tirana, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Elbasani (#7, 0-6) with 41-point margin 96-55. Partizani maintains the 3rd position in Albanian Superliga. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Partizani will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Lalaj had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Partizani, through which she has constantly improved. Ornela Lalaj has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.6rpg) and averages impressive 55.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young DR Congolese Liliane Ndongbwo (190-C-2005) of league's leader SK Tirana. Ndongbwo had a very good evening with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Of course Tirana cruised to a 50-40 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Studenti (#5, 2-6). This victory allowed Tirana to move up to 1st position in the standings. Her team lost just one game this season, while they won 7 matches. Ndongbwo is a newcomer at Tirana, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.1ppg (#8). She also registered 11.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Desiree Ramos (170-G-1993) of league's second-best Flamurtari Vlore. Ramos scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Flamurtari, leading her team to a 93-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Teuta (#6, 2-6). Flamurtari needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 2 lost games. Ramos has a great season in Albania. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (5th best), rebounds with 7.8rpg (9th best) and assists with 5.4apg (4th best). She also has 3.4spg and and 3PT: 47.7%.
