Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The biggest surprise of round 10 was guest Teuta's (3-6) road victory over 5th ranked Studenti (2-7) 75-67 on Friday evening. Teuta forced 20 Studenti turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Jainaya Jones (163-2000, college: WSSU) fired 8 points, 17 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The other American import guard Aniylah Bryant (170, college: Fayetteville St.) chipped in 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Marinela Gjergji (179-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds for lost side. Teuta moved-up to fifth place. Studenti lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tirana: Tirana (#1) and Partizani (#3). Tirana (8-1) smashed visiting Partizani (5-3) by 17 points 75-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Partizani. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Emani Clough (175-1997, college: JCSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Enisa Qosja contributed with 19 points for the winners. American forward Sarah Mgbeike (185, college: OLLU) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for Partizani. Partizani's coach Erta Bujari rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-1 record. Partizani at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
Bottom-ranked Elbasani (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 60-44 loss to fourth ranked Vllaznia (4-3) in Shkodra on Sunday evening. Bernada Rreshpja scored 18 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners. Vllaznia's coach Medina Mustafa used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Dea Sali responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Vllaznia maintains fourth position with 4-3 record. Loser Elbasani still closes the standings with seven games lost.
