The Regular Season in Superliga just ended. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tirana: Tirana (#2) and Studenti (#4). Studenti was defeated at home 53-65 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tirana forced 21 Studenti turnovers. Mexican power forward Myriam Lara (188-1994) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Enisa Qosja (170-1995) chipped in 13 points. Tirana's coach Mirza Alibegaj used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Megi Spahiu (174-2004) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Tirana maintains second place with 11-6 record having eight points less than leader Flamurtari. Studenti at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost.
Undefeated leader Flamurtari delivered the eighteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Vllaznia (2-15) 78-59 in Shkodra. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Bernada Rreshpja (180-2001, college: Southeastern) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Laila Fair contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Melida Hykaj (178-2005) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for Vllaznia. Undefeated Flamurtari (18-0) have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 18 victories in a row. Vllaznia lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost.
