Urartu celebrated A League title. They overcame Hatis on aggregate in the championship series despite return leg game by four points. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-90. Hatis made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Urartu only scored seven points from the stripe. 25 personal fouls committed by Urartu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Dannie Smith (198, college: IU Northwest) had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Davit Khachatryan (210-2000) chipped in 26 points and 18 rebounds during the contest.
