A-League Round 4 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Urartu's defeat of BKMA

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Yerevan: Urartu (#1) and BKMA (#8). BKMA was defeated at home 67-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Urartu dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BKMA's 28. Urartu forced 20 BKMA turnovers and outrebounded them 50-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward DJ Basey (208-2000, college: Angelo St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Jordan Tillmon (190, college: PVAMU) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Urartu's coach Luka Filipcevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for BKMA. Urartu have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. BKMA at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Olympavan (2-2) against fifth ranked Erebuni (2-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Olympavan was crushed by Erebuni in Yerevan 110-76. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds and Michael Kirkland who added 22 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Somalian forward Nuradin Aden (198-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Erebuni moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Olympavan.
The game in Artik supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Hatis (3-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Artik (1-3). Hatis smashed Artik 100-77 on Sunday. The winners were led by TJ Doman who had that evening a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. Hatis' coach Vardan Khachatryan felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 30 points and 6 rebounds by Donte Forrester-Jhagroo did not help to save the game for Artik. Newly promoted Hatis maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Urartu. Loser Artik keeps the fifth place with three games lost.
