BC Vienna successfully defended their Austrian SLMU19 championship on Sunday, overpowering the Raiffeisen Traiskirchen Lions Academy 88-64 in the final at Steigenteschgasse to claim back-to-back national U19 titles. Aron Stazic (207-F-2007) was named Final Four MVP after delivering two outstanding performances across the weekend. The big man posted 21 points and 12 rebounds in the final, a day after leading BC Vienna past the Vienna Timberwolves 81-73 in the semifinals with a commanding 28 points and 16 rebounds. Kerem Yilmazer (184-PG-2007) added 18 points in the title game, Matej Trnic (C-2008) contributed 17, and Lukas Cvetkova (192-G-2007) chipped in 12 as coach Igor Dimitrov's squad fired on all cylinders.
BC Vienna set the tone early with a 24-12 first quarter that left Traiskirchen chasing the game from the outset. The Viennese side extended their lead to 48-37 by halftime and 67-50 through three quarters, never allowing the Lions to mount a meaningful comeback. Traiskirchen coach Kristijan Nikolic acknowledged his team showed too much respect for the league's best side, with turnovers and rebounding problems making it impossible to keep the contest close.
Erik Dietz (202-F-2007) led Traiskirchen with a team-high 22 points and Boris Perkovic (190-G-2007) added 17, but the Lions could not match BC Vienna's physicality and offensive fluency. Colin Steinberger conceded his side struggled with BC Vienna's size advantage from the opening tip and never recovered from the early deficit.
Dimitrov framed the victory as the culmination of years of development work. "What you saw in the final is what happens when development meets maturity," the BC Vienna coach said. "Behind this success stands the quiet, consistent work of a club that doesn't chase short-term results but invests in sustainable growth."
In the bronze-medal game, Vienna United GrallerKrcho GmbH recovered from their 47-85 semifinal loss to Traiskirchen with a composed 77-66 victory over the Timberwolves. Cornelius Stubenvoll (192-F-2007) topped the Timberwolves with 19 points but acknowledged his squad had left too much energy in Saturday's semifinal.
