Austrian BSL round 16 best performance: Rasid Mahalbasic (by Hoops Agents)

Naturalized Slovenian Center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-C-1990) had an amazing evening in the last round for BC Vienna, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 35-year old player got a double-double of 24 points and 10 assists, while his team crushed Kapfenberg (#5, 9-5) with 20-point margin 104-84. BC Vienna maintains the 7th position in Austrian BSL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Vienna will need more victories to improve their 9-6 record. In the team's last game Mahalbasic had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be BC Vienna's top player in his first season with the team. Rasid Mahalbasic has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.3rpg), assists (9th best: 5.2apg) and averages impressive 72.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Andrew Jones (193-G-1997) of HEFTE HELFEN Bulls Kapfenberg. Jones had a very good evening with 36 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Kapfenberg Bulls lost that game 84-104 to slightly lower-ranked Vienna (#7, 9-6). Kapfenberg managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jones is a newcomer at Kapfenberg, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.1ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.2rpg and 3.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jerome Hunter (203-F-1999, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Raiffeisen Swans Gmunden (#6). Hunter scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Gmunden Swans, leading his team to a 90-44 easy win against Furstenfeld (#11, 0-14). Gmunden needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. Hunter has a great season in Austria. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (2nd best).
