Azerbaijani ABL round 2 best performance: Jeremy Hayes

American Guard Jeremy Hayes (193-G-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Nakhchivan, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (35 points and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Sumqayit (#6, 1-1) 87-76. Nakhchivan is placed at 2nd position in Azerbaijani ABL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Nakhchivan won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Hayes had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Nakhchivan's top player in his first season with the team. Former Angelo State University star has very solid stats this year. Hayes is league's best scorer averaging so far 35.0ppg. Hayes is in league's top in and averages impressive 100.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American De'Ondre Jackson (192-G/F-1996, agency: MSG) of LANDAU Lions Baku. Jackson had a very good evening with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Lions to another comfortable win outscoring NTD (0-2) 102-68. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Jackson is well-known at Lions and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. Former Palm Beach Atlantic University star Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Lions' star - American guard Jordan Perkins (187-G-1998, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited). Perkins showcased his all-around game by recording 9 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of LANDAU Lions Baku, helping his team with a 102-68 easy win against NTD (#7, 0-2). Lions needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Perkins has a great season in Azerbaijan. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.5apg (5th best).
