Gevorkyan's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

17-year old point guard Arsen Gevorkyan (175-PG-2006) had an amazing evening in the last round for Basketbal Polabi Nymburk and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team AEK (#11, 0-2) with 35-point margin 115-80. Polabi is placed at 3rd position in BCL Juniors league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Polabi won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Gevorkyan had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Polabi's top player in his first season with the team. Gevorkyan has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 68.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Ioannis Nikolaou (2007) of AEK Athens U19 team. He is a in his first season at AEK. In the last game Nikolaou recorded an impressive double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as AEK lost that game 80-115 to Nymburk (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Nikolaou is a newcomer at AEK and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Pavel Kastil (195-F-2006) of BK Opava U19 team (#7). Kastil scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Opava, leading his team to a 60-55 win against Ludwigsburg (#10, 0-1). Opava needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Kastil has a very solid season. In 2 games in BCL Juniors he scored 13.0ppg.
