Levski beats Lovcen in the Big Final, wins Balkan League title - Apr 16, 2010

Lovcen - Levski 65-77

For another year the Eurohold Balkan league trophy will stay in Bulgaria. After Rilski Sportist won the first edition of the tournament in 2009 today another Bulgarian team went to the top. The host of Final Four Levski defeated Lovcen 65-77 and won the trophy in front of its home fans. This is the second tournament won by the team this season after the Cup of Bulgaria one month ago. Levski played very good defense throughout the whole game and proved it was the best team in this year tournament. The team of Lovcen also deserves to be praised for its performance during the championship. The game was decided at the start of the second half. After the first 20 minutes Levski led 39-35 and after an 8-0 run to start the third quarter built a big lead. It was protected until the end of the quarter and with 7 straight points to start the last one the score went up to 67-46. From then on there was no comeback for Lovcen and Levski and its fans started celebrating. Aaron Harper (199-G/F-81, agency: Strategic Sports, college: Mississippi) was the best player on the court with with his 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. 14 points apiece added Donald Cole (204-C-81, agency: Edge Sports, college: Sam Houston St.) and Stefan Georgiev, while his brother Zlatin had 10. For the visitors Bojan Dubljevic (205-C-91) had another double double - 23 points and 11 rebounds. Damjan Kandic (208-F-84) had 15 points in the first half he received some injury and played only a few minutes in the second.
