Regular Season Round 18: BC Odessa - Hoverla 84-89

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Hoverla (6-5) defeated on the road bottom-ranked BC Odessa (2-9) 89-84. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Odessa won fourth quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. BC Odessa was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The other American import power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BC Odessa. Four Hoverla and five BC Odessa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hoverla moved-up to sixth place. BC Odessa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. They share it with BC Kyiv. Hoverla will play against league's second-placed Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Odessa will play on the road against Dnipro (#11) in Dnepropetrovsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
