The game was mostly controlled by Khmelnytskyi. DiDiBao was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khmelnytskyi made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Carlos Hines (196-1999, college: Peru St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Dmitry Kachanov (177-2003) contributed with 9 points and 10 assists for the winners. Center Yevgen Brechko (206-1992) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Dmytro Vasylenko (200-1997) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for DiDiBao. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sambir won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sambir 45-34 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Ivan Filonenko (186-2003) who scored 23 points. Guard Maksym Hryshchuk (185-2006) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Niko Basket 2 players scored in double figures. Oleksii Adediran, 43-year old Nigerian center from the Sambir, was voted the Player of the Year at the Higher League. He graduated from the Binghamton years ago. Adediran received multiple other awards, was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year, Center of the Year and was chosen to the First Team. He was previously honored as the Player of the Year, Center of the Year three times, Import Player of the Year back in 2023, and named to the First Team three times in the past and Defensive Team last year. Adediran was the Player of the Week honoree 7 times during the 25 26 campaign. He orchestrated his way to the third spot in points per game, showcasing a dazzling average of almost 22 and second position in averaging over 11 rebounds per game. Adediran has totalled 18 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 3 games. He registered double-doubles in 17 games at the event. Adediran's 39 points against Freedom UA Kyiv were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. The standout guard Dmitry Kachanov earned the Finals MVP of the championship-winning champion team the Khmelnytskyi. He also earned a spot in the First Team. With Kachanov's excellent performance, the champion team the Khmelnytskyi achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 20 to 3 in the regular season. Eric Butler, American guard from the runner-up team finalist team DiDiBao Kamianets-Podilskyi, picked up the Import Player of the Year of Higher League. He Is Rio Grande alumni from 2025. Butler collected multiple other honors, was named the Guard of the Year and was voted to the First Team. His best performance made his team reach the finals but they unfortunately were defeated by Khmelnytskyi 0 to 2. Butler was voted Player of the Week twice during the 25 26 campaign. He recorded over 16 points and 8 rebounds per game that season in the league. Butler has totalled 9 games of 20 or more points and logged double-doubles in 9 games on the year. His 25 points against the Che Basket were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Vitaliy Volodin, 21-year old power forward from the MBC-Niko Basket Mykolaiv, was voted the Forward of the Year at the Higher League. He was also selected to the First Team. Volodin previously earned Honorable Mention back in 2024, and chosen to the Defensive Team and Second Team last year. With finesse and precision, Volodin claimed the third position in rebounds per game, delivering a stellar over 11 rebounds per game average. He also registered almost 16 points per game over the season in the league. Volodin has totalled 3 games of 20 or more points and notched double-doubles in 10 games on the year. His 36 points against Sambir were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Bogdan Riznychenko, 25-year old forward from the DiDiBao Kamianets-Podilskyi, was named to the First Team of Higher League. His best performance made his team reach the finals but they unfortunately lost against Khmelnytskyi 0 to 2. Riznychenko averaged almost 13 points and 5 rebounds per game in the league.
