There was no surprise in Yuzhny where 14th ranked BC Odessa (3-11) was defeated by second ranked Khimik (11-3) 78-70 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-70. American forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. Goodridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Tyrone Brazelton (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) responded with 23 points and his fellow American import forward Dario Hunt (203-89, college: Nevada) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Budivelnyk. Loser BC Odessa stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. They share the position with BC Kyiv. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
