The game in Quakenbrueck supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked EWE Baskets (9-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Artland Dragons (7-6). EWE Baskets smashed Artland Dragons 86-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-65. EWE Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Artland Dragons' 32. American guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron) chipped in 12 points and 9 assists. Five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Cape Verdean-American forward Ryan Gomes (201-82, college: Providence) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) scored 13 points. EWE Baskets maintains fourth place with 9-5 record. Artland Dragons lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with B.Muenchen. EWE Baskets will meet at home Mitteldeutscher BC (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play against TBB Trier (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
