The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hannover Tigers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group North. Hannover Tigers defeated 5th ranked Oldenburg at home 95-78. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Oldenburg. The game was mostly controlled by Hannover Tigers. Oldenburg managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate, agency: Dynamics Global Management) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Rodriguez Sherman (188-87, college: Kent St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) responded with 18 points and point guard Kevin Smit (183-91) scored 13 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Five Hannover Tigers and four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Oldenburg's coach Mladen Drijencic rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Stahnsdorf and Rist Wedel. Oldenburg at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with SU Medien. Oldenburg will play next round against Hertener Loewen trying to get back on the winning streak. Hannover Tigers will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf.
