Regular Season Round 14: Hannover - Stahnsdorf 62-71

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hannover Tigers (10-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by RSV Eintracht (11-3) 71-62. It was a key game for the top position in Group North as both teams had the same 10-3 record before this meeting. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But Hannover Tigers won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Richard Thomas (196-87, college: Angelo St.) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Center Michael Haucke (210-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. point guard Tobias Welzel (183-90) produced 14 points and forward Jannik Lodders (198-92) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. RSV Eintracht have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group North leader, which they share with Rist Wedel. Hannover Tigers at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Schwelm. RSV Eintracht is looking forward to face Recklinghausen (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Hannover Tigers will play against Bochum (#8) and are hoping to win this game.
