Regular Season Round 15: Bochum - Hannover 79-80

Eighth-ranked Bochum (6-9) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Hannover Tigers (11-4) on Friday. The visitors from Hannover managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Jannik Lodders (198-92) accounted for 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Center Julius Duecker (205-84) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Felix Wenningkamp (196-88) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Bochum in the defeat. Four Bochum players scored in double figures. Hannover Tigers keep a position of Group North leader, which they share with Rist Wedel and Stahnsdorf. Newly promoted Bochum dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. Hannover Tigers will meet at home Stade (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bochum will play against the league's leader RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf and hope to secure a win.
