Regular Season Round 18: Hertener Loewen - Hannover 89-86

The most exciting game of round 18 in the ProB took place in Herten. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Hannover Tigers (12-6) to ninth ranked Hertener Loewen (8-10) 89-86 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 27-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hertener Loewen made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Hannover Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Matt Reid (185-84, college: Cameron) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). The other American import center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and American center Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hannover Tigers. Four Hertener Loewen and five Hannover Tigers players scored in double figures. Hertener Loewen moved-up to eighth place in Group North, which they share with Bochum. Hannover Tigers at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. They share it with Schwelm. Hertener Loewen is looking forward to face BSW Sixers (#10) in Sandersdorf in the next round. Hannover Tigers will play on the road against Recklinghausen (#7) and are hoping to win this game.
