Very expected game when 13th ranked Buyukcekmece (8-13) was edged on the road by fourth ranked Istanbul B.B. (14-7) 76-74 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 25-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Buyukcekmece was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Umutcan Ozyildirim (196-83) chipped in 16 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) added 17 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Istanbul B.B. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vestel and Ankara DSI Era. Newly promoted Buyukcekmece keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Istanbul B.B.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul DSI.
