Karutasu named Final Four MVP as Anadolu Efes claim Turkish Youth League crown-May 18, 2026
Anadolu Efes captured the 2025-26 Ulker Basketbol Gencler Ligi Men's championship on Sunday, beating Aliaga Petkim Spor 65-55 in the final at the Turkcell Basketball Development Center.
Darius Karutasu (201-F-2009) was named Final Four MVP, receiving the award from Turkish national team star Alperen Sengun in a ceremony attended by Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Osman Askin Bak and TBF President Hidayet Turkoglu.
Efes led 33-29 at halftime and pulled away in the second half behind a balanced effort. Yigit Pinar (189-G-2008) led the champions with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists, providing the scoring punch that Aliaga could not match down the stretch.
For Aliaga Petkim, Ahmet Andic (220-C-2008) was outstanding in defeat with a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists, but could not overcome Efes' collective quality. The Izmir side's runners-up shield was presented by TBF Vice President Harun Erdenay.
The championship trophy was presented to Efes by Minister Bak, with medals awarded by Bak and Erdenay. The final was broadcast live on HT Spor.

Ahmet Andic, 18-year old center from the Aliaga Petkimspor Izmir, was named the Player of the Year at the Turkey. He received multiple other awards, was voted the Defensive Player of the Year, Center of the Year and was selected to the First Team. With Andic's excellent performance, the Aliaga Petkimspor Izmir achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 13 to 2 in the regular season. Andic's best performance made his team reach the final but they lost against the Anadolu Efes 55 to 65. He was the Player of the Week honoree in the league. Andic's court vision propelled him to the third spot in rebounds per game an outstanding average of over 12. He also averaged 14 points per game in the league. Andic recorded double-doubles in 7 games during the event. His 27 points against the Karsiyaka were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. The standout forward Darius Karutasu was selected as the Finals MVP of the championship-winning Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He collected multiple other honors, was honored as the Forward of the Year and was chosen to the First Team. Karutasu helped Karutasu's team have an undefeated season as Anadolu Efes Istanbul was not challenged in the league with a perfect 15 to 0 in the regular season. With Yildiz's excellent performance, the Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 12 to 3 in the regular season. Yildiz previously earned a spot in the Third Team last year. He recorded over 6 rebounds per game over the season in the league. Yildiz was voted Player of the Week in the league. He led the Turkey in points per game with almost 23. Yildiz's 31 points against the Fenerbatchehh were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Yucel Basaran, 18-year old forward from the Tofas Bursa Under 19 team, was voted to the First Team at the Turkey. His playmaking prowess was on full display as he secured the fourth position in points per game averaging almost 20. Basaran led the Turkey in assists per game with almost 8. He has totalled 7 games of 20 or more points and logged double-doubles in 3 games on the year. Basaran's 29 points against the Mersin Spor were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Despite his young age he had an impressive career. Basaran's team was the regular season runner-up in the Turkish Under 19 League Group C in 2025. He was also selected as the Eurobasket Youth Basketball Champions League Defensive Player of the Year in 2025. Basaran was selected to the Eurobasket Youth Basketball Champions All-Defensive Team in 2025. He was also selected to the Eurobasket Youth Basketball Champions Second Team in 2025. The standout guard Mert Kocagozoglu was selected to the First Team of the championship-winning champion team Anadolu Efes Istanbul Under 19 team. He helped Kocagozoglu's team have an undefeated season as champion team Anadolu Efes Istanbul Under 19 team was not challenged in the league with a perfect 15 to 0 in the regular season.
