No shocking result in a game when EWE Baskets (2-0) smashed on the road Crailsheim Merlins (0-2) 85-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. EWE Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Crailsheim Merlins' 34. The best player for the winners was American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. EWE Baskets' coach Sebastian Machowski felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Garrett Sim (185-90, college: Oregon) produced 15 points and 4 assists and point guard Joshiko Saibou (188-90) added 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. EWE Baskets will face BBC Bayreuth at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against BG Goettingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
