No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Brose Baskets (3-1) beat bottom-ranked Walter Tigers (0-4) in Tuebingen 92-81 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. Brose Baskets made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game, while Walter Tigers only scored twelve points from the stripe. Walter Tigers were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Wallace (187-86, college: Georgetown) replied with 20 points and Serbian guard Branislav Ratkovica (192-85, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Walter Tigers. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brose Baskets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with MBC and EWE Baskets. Loser Walter Tigers still closes the standings with four games lost. Brose Baskets will face TBB Trier (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Walter Tigers will play against EWE Baskets (#5) in Oldenburg and hope to get finally their first victory.
