Weiterstadt has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Langen, where they defeated Rhein MB II (0-4) 68-62 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 8-2. Weiterstadt forced 22 Rhein MB II turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 21 on the offensive glass. Forward Kristin Annawald (184-93) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Tanisha Carter (183-91, college: Bridgeport) chipped in 22 points. American guard Alexandra Chili (183, college: Muhlenberg) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Weiterstadt (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place in South, which they share with Viernheim. It was Rhein MB II's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Weiterstadt will meet TSV Amicitia in the next round. Rhein MB II will play against Friendsfactory Germering and hopes to get finally their first victory.
