Regular Season Round 5: TBB Trier - Brose Bask. 61-74

Date: October 18, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked TBB Trier (2-3) lost at home to fifth ranked Brose Baskets (4-1) 74-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. TBB Trier was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. The former international forward Elias Harris (203-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Brose Baskets' coach Andrea Trinchieri used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Serbian Marko Lukovic (207-92, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 13 points in the effort for TBB Trier. The victory was the third consecutive win for Brose Baskets. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser TBB Trier dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Brose Baskets will face ratiopharm Ulm (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TBB Trier will play against Crailsheim Merlins and hope to win that game.
