Round 5 in TBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Galatasaray (4-1) edged league's leader Anadolu Efes (3-2) 77-76 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Anadolu Efes won fourth quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Anadolu Efes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 14 points. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, agency: Beo Basket) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and Gabonese center Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Dusan Ivkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fener.Ulker and Darussafaka. Anadolu Efes at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Darussafaka. Anadolu Efes will play next round against Istanbul BSB trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul - Istanbul BSB. Galatasaray will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul.
