Regular Season Round 8: BC Timisoara - U-Banca TR 89-85

There was no surprise when 11th ranked U-Banca TR (2-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked BC Timisoara (4-4) 89-85 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. U-Banca TR was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 24 points. The former international forward Bogdan Popescu (202-78, college: Alaska-Fairb.) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Mihai Silvasan (200-85, agency: Court Side) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. U-Banca TR's coach Dorin Pintea rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Timisoara moved-up to sixth place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. U-Banca TR lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. BC Timisoara will have a break next round. U-Banca TR will play at home against Timba Timosoara (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
