Regular Season Round 7: Darussafaka - Trabzonspor 88-68
Date: November 22, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 16th ranked Trabzonspor (1-6) was rolled over by third ranked Darussafaka (5-2) 88-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. Trabzonspor managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Slovenian center Gasper Vidmar (211-87) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Lithuanian forward John Shurna (204-90, college: Northwestern, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Croatian-Bosnian center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, agency: Beo Basket) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Trabzonspor stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Eskisehir Basket. Darussafaka will meet Eskisehir Basket (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Trabzonspor will play against Tofas and hope to win that game.
