There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Hertener Loewen (5-7) beat on the road 4th placed Itzehoe (7-5) 82-70 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Itzehoe's 36. Swingman Lars Meyer (189-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Marvin Boadu (193-89, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. American swingman Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds and Yannick Evans (202-86) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Itzehoe. Itzehoe's coach Paul Larysz let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hertener Loewen. They maintain ninth place in Group North with 5-7 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Itzehoe dropped to the second position with five games lost.
