Regular Season Round 13: Svendborg - Aalborg 91-74

Date: December 17, 2014
Bottom-ranked Aalborg (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-74 loss to third ranked Svendborg (9-3) in Svendborg. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Aalborg was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. His fellow American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Alassan Touray (192-93) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Aalborg. Svendborg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-3 record having just two points less than leader Bakken. Aalborg at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Svendborg will play against Vaerlose (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aalborg will play against the league's leader Bakken in Aarhus and hopes to get finally their first victory.
