Date: December 21, 2014
Another exciting game was between fourth ranked Recklinghausen and 5th ranked Itzehoe where Recklinghausen (8-6) beat Itzehoe (7-7) on the road 81-70. Recklinghausen made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Carl Hipp (203-89, college: Hamline) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. American-Italian swingman Joe Scott (192-88, college: St.Thomas) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. American swingman Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and center Lars Kroeger (211-91) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Itzehoe. Itzehoe's coach Paul Larysz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Recklinghausen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Bochum and Braunschweig. Itzehoe lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Rist Wedel and Magdeburg. Recklinghausen will play against league's second-placed AstroStars in Bochum in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Itzehoe will play on the road against the league's leader Seawolves in Rostock and hopes to get back on the winning track.
