Regular Season Round 13: BC Timisoara - CSU Sibiu 92-75

CSU Sibiu (#4) was upset in Timisoara by seventh ranked BC Timisoara 92-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CSU Sibiu. It looked good early as CSU Sibiu took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Timisoara had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and CSU Sibiu was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-92. BC Timisoara made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by CSU Sibiu's players. CSU Sibiu was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 15 points and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and Serbian power forward Vladimir Tica (206-81, agency: BeoExcell) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American swingman LeRoy Hurd (202-80, college: UTSA) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian swingman Milos Bojovic (198-81, agency: Beo Basket) added 20 points respectively for CSU Sibiu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Timisoara maintains seventh place with 6-6 record, which they share with U-Banca TR. CSU Sibiu at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. BC Timisoara will play against league's leader Steaua CSM in Bucuresti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CSU Sibiu will have a break next round.
