Regular Season Round 19: UBSC Graz - Arkadia 75-83

Date: January 4, 2015
Rather expected game when 10th ranked UBSC Graz (2-17) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Arkadia Lions (9-10) 83-75. It looked good early as UBSC Graz took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Arkadia Lions took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. They made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by UBSC Graz helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for Argentinian-Italian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Florian Trmal (199-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Slovenian forward Elvis Kadic (201-80) answered with 20 points and American guard Nolan Richardson (188-84, college: Midwestern St.) added 17 points in the effort for UBSC Graz. Arkadia Lions moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Oberwart. UBSC Graz lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Arkadia Lions' next round opponent will be league's leader Gmunden Swans in Gmunden and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UBSC Graz will play on the road against Redwell Gunners Oberwart (#7) and hope to win that game.
