Regular Season Round 16: Horsholm - Aalborg 97-72

Bottom-ranked Aalborg (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-72 loss to ninth ranked Horsholm (3-13) in Horsholm on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Aalborg managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aalborg's 30. It was a great shooting night for Horsholm especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican center Alejandro Rodriguez (206-88, college: Iona, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Derek Semenas (190, college: Cardinal Stritch) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Horsholm's coach Miguel Angel Hoyo felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Jeppe Kristiansen (195-87) scored 17 points. Horsholm maintains ninth position with 3-13 record. Loser Aalborg still closes the standings. Horsholm will meet at home league's leader Bakken in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aalborg will have a break next round.
