Regular Season Round 19: Aalborg - SISU 107-98

Aalborg can celebrate finally their first win this season after 18 consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat SISU (9-11) 107-98. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Aalborg made 34-of-41 charity shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while SISU only scored ten points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Aalborg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 26 personal fouls committed by SISU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for guard Trey Sumler (188, college: W.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) accounted for 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Darryl Partin (198-87, college: Boston U.) came up with 31 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Joe Benjamin (200-83, college: W.Virginia St.) added 26 points and 8 rebounds respectively for SISU in the defeat. Five Aalborg and four SISU players scored in double figures. Aalborg maintains tenth place with 1-18 record. It was SISU's third loss in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Aalborg's next round opponent will be higher ranked Wolfpack (#3) in Copenhagen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
