Regular Season Round 16: TED Kolejliler - Istanbul BSB 73-84

There was a small surprise in Ankara where fourteenth ranked Istanbul BSB (6-10) won against 11th ranked TED Kolejliler (6-10) 84-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul BSB. TED Kolejliler was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TED Kolejliler 42-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (191-85, college: Central Mo.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and American power forward Alex Stepheson (208-87, college: USC) who added 12 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian power forward Vanja Plisnic (207-80, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Cevher Ozer (206-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TED Kolejliler's coach Burak Goren tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Istanbul BSB moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated TED Kolejliler. TED Kolejliler lost third consecutive game. Istanbul BSB will face Usak (#13) at home in the next round.
