Regular Season Round 18: BSW Sixers - Itzehoe 63-78

Date: February 1, 2015
Everything could happen in Sandersdorf at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Itzehoe and 9th ranked Sixers had identical 8-9 record. But Sixers were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Itzehoe 78-63. It was a good game for American swingman Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized Greek guard Kosta Karamatskos (195-86) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Itzehoe's coach Paul Larysz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Robert Zinn (196-95) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American Adrian Hill (203-84, college: Rutgers) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sixers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Itzehoe (9-9) moved-up to seventh place in Group North. Sixers at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Itzehoe's next round opponent will be higher ranked AstroStars (#3) in Bochum and it may be quite challenging game. Sixers will play on the road against Oldenburg (#5) and hope to win that game.
