Regular Season Round 17: Galatasaray - Banvit BK 87-79

Date: February 1, 2015
The game in Istanbul was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Banvit BK (10-7) played at the court of seventh ranked Galatasaray (10-7). Galatasaray managed to secure a 8-point victory 87-79 on Sunday. Banvit BK was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 30-20 charge of Galatasaray, which allowed them to win the game. American center Patric Young (206-92, college: Florida) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and international point guard Ender Arslan (190-83) chipped in 14 points. American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Azerbaijani center Charles Davis (205-84, college: Alabama) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Banvit BK's coach Zoran Lukic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galatasaray have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Besiktas and Banvit BK. Galatasaray will meet bottom-ranked Eskisehir Basket (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banvit BK will play against Istanbul BSB (#10) and hope to secure a win.
