Regular Season Round 22: Braunschweig - Bremerhaven 92-61

Date: February 13, 2015
Very predictable result when ninth ranked Braunschweig (11-11) outscored at home 17th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-17) 92-61 on Friday. They outrebounded Eisbaeren Bremerhaven 33-22 including a 24-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Braunschweig looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Trent Lockett (196-90, college: Marquette) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Braunschweig moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Art.Dragons and Fraport SKY. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 17 games lost. Braunschweig will face league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play at home against Phoenix Hagen (#13) and hope to win that game.
