Regular Season Round 20: Yesilgiresun - Adanaspor 77-76

A very interesting game took place in Giresun. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Adanaspor (10-10) to ninth ranked Yesilgiresun (11-9) 77-76 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Adanaspor took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Yesilgiresun had a 26-20 second period charge getting the lead and Adanaspor was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-77. They outrebounded Adanaspor 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-90) saved the victory by scoring 14 points. The former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-85) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Yesilgiresun's coach Burak Biyiktay allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) replied with 20 points and his fellow American import forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Adanaspor. Yesilgiresun have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gelisim. Newly promoted Adanaspor dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Yesilgiresun's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Buyukcekmece on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Adanaspor will play against Final Genclik (#13) and hope to win that game.
