We should mention about the upset which took place in Leverkusen, where higher ranked SC Rasta Vechta (9-13) lost to fourteenth ranked Bayer Giants (7-15) in a road game 55-68 on Saturday. Swingman Matthias Goddek (196-86) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Jake Koch (206-90, college: N.Iowa) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. SC Rasta Vechta's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bayer Giants maintains fourteenth position with 7-15 record. SC Rasta Vechta lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Bayer Giants will meet higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Hamburg and hope to secure a win.
