Second Stage Round 15: Petrochema - Perlas-MRU 74-72

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Perlas-MRU (27-11) in Jonava on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Petrochema (18-20) 74-72. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-20. But Perlas-MRU won second period 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for swingman Vytautas Pikalavicius (197-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Karolis Sarukas (198-95) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Alvydas Zarskus (207-94) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Edvinas Seskus (194-95) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Petrochema maintains seventh place with 18-20 record, which they share with Zalgiris II and Rasai. Perlas-MRU at the other side still keeps top position with 11 games lost.
