An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Utena. Second ranked Zalgiris faced 4th ranked Juventus. Guests from Kaunas (29-4) defeated host Juventus (21-13) 73-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Juventus. Juventus trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-73 at the end of the game. Zalgiris made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Juventus turnovers. The best player for the winners was American James Anderson (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. The other American import point guard Will Cherry (185-91, college: Montana) chipped in 9 points. Zalgiris' coach Gintaras Krapikas used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Russian forward Nikita Barinov (203-91) who recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Zalgiris have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 29-4 record having 2 victories less than leader Lietuvos rytas. Juventus at the other side keeps the fourth place with 13 games lost. Zalgiris are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mazeikiai (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
