The game with biggest result difference took place in Kaunas. Local Zalgiris (32-4) outscored 6th ranked Dzukija (20-17) 85-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dzukija. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dzukija to just 7 points in third quarter. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dzukija's 32. They outrebounded Dzukija 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Dzukija's players. It was a quality performance for the former international Paulius Jankunas (205-84) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Will Cherry (185-91, college: Montana) accounted for 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Zalgiris' coach Gintaras Krapikas felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-85) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Paulius Dambrauskas (192-85) added 14 points respectively for Dzukija in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Zalgiris. Defending champion maintains second place with 32-4 record behind leader Lietuvos rytas. Dzukija at the other side keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Zalgiris' next round opponent will be Siauliai (#7) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Dzukija will play against Tonybet in Prienai and hope to win that game.
