BBL top team - ALBA Berlin (27-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (7-25) 92-71. The game was mostly controlled by ALBA Berlin. Crailsheim Merlins was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALBA Berlin made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Crailsheim Merlins turnovers and outrebounded them 36-16 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Crailsheim Merlins were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Croatian forward Marko Banic (205-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and American point guard Clifford Hammonds (191-85, college: Clemson) who added 12 points, 5 assists and 5 steals during the contest. American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 16 points and his fellow American import point guard Garrett Sim (185-90, college: Oregon) scored 8 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ALBA Berlin have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-4 record. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side stay dead last with 25 lost games.
